After escaping Durst Estate, the party reached Old Barovia, where they met Ireena “Feena” and learned of Burgomaster Kolyan Indirovich’s death. Following unsettling shared dreams, they attended his funeral at the Church of the Morninglord and heard strange sounds beneath the sanctuary.
After bathing and recovering at the Physick House, they questioned Father Donavich. He revealed that the sounds come from his son, Doru, who returned from Castle Ravenloft transformed. Father Donavich now leads the party down into the ancient undercroft beneath the church.
